| BACKGROUND |
|
||||||||||||||||||||
| 2351: Born to parents Graham and Claudia Ellard in Tharsis City, Mars. 2363: Her parents divorce and she goes to live with her mother on Bolarus IX. 2373: Graduates from Starfleet Academy. 2373: Tia's mother is killed in the initial Dominion bombardment of Betazed. CHILDHOOD: Tia was born to Graham and Claudia Ellard in Tharsis City, Mars in 2351. An only child, Tia enjoyed a typical upbringing; her father was an architect while her mother was a high-ranking beaurocrat in the Martian government and they were very comfortable. However, when Tia was 12 years old her parents divorced and she left Mars with her mother. Claudia Ellard gained a position working with the government of Bolarus IX and so her and her daughter relocated. It was on the trip from Mars to Bolius that Tia caught the 'space bug' and began to take an avid interest in space travel. She immediately knew she wanted to serve in Starfleet. EDUCATION: STARFLEET SERVICE: Almost immediately after the Serapis was returned to service following repairs, the Dominion War broke out and the ship was pressed into service. The ship was part of the fleet that destroyed the Dominion shipyards on Torros III. Over the course of the war Tia saw plenty of combat and, like so many in the Federation, lost close friends and family. Tia's mother was killed during the initial bombardment of Betazed by Dominion forces when they invaded in 2373. She also lost four of her friends from the Academy. After the war, she was reassigned to the Nebula-class USS Lincoln. While serving on the Lincoln, she proved herself as an exceptional officer. In 2376, Lieutenant Ellard and two other officers were stranded on an inhospitable asteroid when their shuttle was hit by a micro-meteor shower as it collected data on an asteroid field. All three of the crew survived the crash but the ranking officer, Lieutenant Jack Harland, was critically wounded and unconscious. It was Tia's leadership and cool head that saw the trio survive the ordeal. Afterwards, she was commended for her bravery and handling of the situation. She continued to serve with distinction on the Lincoln
for another year before she was transferred to the Defiant-class USS
Terra Nova, which was in need of a Chief Operations Officer following
the unexpected death of Lieutenant Commander Steve Baker. In early 2378, Tia was reassigned to the USS Saginaw as Chief Operations Officer. |

pleasant person who can quickly adjust to new surroundings and finds
it easy to get along with those around her. She has a very analytical
mind and tries to look at situations from all perspectives in order
to gain a better understanding of them. An introvert by nature, Tia
is more comfortable being on her own, or working, than being in a
large group of people. Despite this, she does enjoy the company of
