| 2344: Born on a farm in Texas, Earth. 2366: Sam's father dies of a heart attack. 2377: Sam decides to venture off Earth to seek employment in the culinary arts. CHILDHOOD: Born in 2344, the son of a farmer in Texas, on Earth, Sam grew up a country-boy. He learned to tend the land, yeild its crop and maintain the various agricultural matters of the family homestead. He was the typical farm boy. He loved to go fishing, camping, and just plain anything in the Texas sun. He got his love for cooking from his mother. Being the youngest of three boys, he was the one to stay indoors and help his mother. He seemed to take to all things culinary as well. As he got older, though, he progressed to helping out in the fields and such. His father tried to keep as much to the 'traditional ways of farming', as he called it, but Sam still took the time to practice his culinary interests when his chores were concluded. When he was 18, Sam decided to move out to Boston for two years and attend the Boston School of Culinary Arts. He loved the opportunity, unfortunately, after just one year, his father died of a heart attack, and he returned home to Texas to help his two brothers get things in order on the family farm. Sam stayed there the remainder of the year. In 2363, he returned to finish his studies in Boston. Upon graduation, he had his Culinary Liscence.... His dream someday, to open his own Establishment. The following years saw him split his time between the family farm and area restaurant establishments. At one time he even sought employment at the well-known Sisko's Creole establishment in New Orleans.... By 2371, Sam decided to spread his wings even further and venture out into the galaxy. He worked for a while at various Starbase establishments. For a while too, Trill saw his Culinary skills... He would always return home to Texas though after some time away. A deep love for his home always brought him back. Finally in 2375, his skills were requested onboard the USS Invincible. Apparently the little vessel needed a 'Chief Cook', as Sam soon started to call it, and rumor had it, Captain Dennis had been impressed with Sam's Culinary skills from a previous encounter.... Sam served there for a little over a year, until the Invincible returned to Starbase 001 for major repairs in 2377.... ....At
the request of Captain Billings (with a few recomendations from Sam's
former shipmates), Sam transferred over to the USS Terra Nova and has
assumed the role of Ship's Cook. In a way, he truly
has gained his own establishment. He relishes the opportunity. |

| Sam is one
skilled cook! His favorite entres are Southwestern American dishes,
but he knows enough other Terran dishes that he is rather versitile.
He just loves to see the smiles of satisfied consumers. He is also
a good listener, and there are a few among the crew who have his ear.
Some friends of his have commented that he would have made a wonderful
counselor, however, he always responds with a smile and explains how
he'd rather leave that to the professionals..... - - |
