2374-2378 - Starfleet Academy SERVICE RECORD None of Note |
||||||||||||||||||||
| BACKGROUND |
|
||||||||||||||||||||
| 2356: Born to Walter and Melanie Fortune in New York City, New York. 2374: Enrolls in Starfleet Academy. 2375: Hospitalized for six weeks after a head injury while mountain-climbing in Utah. 2378: Graduates from Starfleet Academy a semester early. 2378: Transfers to the U.S.S. Terra Nova. CHILDHOOD: As a child, Meggan's adventurous spirit was kindled by the tales of her two older brothers, stories frequently exaggerated as one sibling always will to another. When her brothers entered Starfleet service and began to separately explore the galaxy, she knew she had to do the same. Her focus and energy in her studies served her well, allowing her to recoup the time lost when she was injured. EDUCATION: Although her major in Sciences didn't come easily for Meggan, her determination and natural interest in the stellar aspects helped her excel in her classes. Specializing in Astral Physics and Stellar Phenomenon, she was listed among those near the top of her class, and her own stellar theories --an unofficial specialization-- intrigued and impressed her Academy superiors. During graduation she was reminded in several separate encounters that they would be "keenly interested" in the developing theories based upon the results of her work. Outside of the stellar sciences, her own curiosity to see things first-hand prompted Meggan to complete a minor in Operations on the off-chance she may be called to the bridge for duty. She eagerly awaits the opportunity. STARFLEET SERVICE: Fresh from Starfleet Academy, Meggan was only assigned to Liberty Station for a short time before being transferred to the U.S.S. Terra Nova. As such, she has yet to have opportunity to stand out for her work. Such opportunities are bound to come around. - - |

| PERSONALITY PROFILE |
|
||||||||||||||||||||
| Meggan's
rock-climbing accident encouraged her to exercise a bit more restraint in
her activities, but her enthusiasm and energy are still apparent in any task
to which she applies herself. She makes frequent use of the gymnasium for
sport and exercise, as well as the holodeck for swimming. Although the galaxy may seem unfriendly at times, she remains an idealist and believes in the good intentions of all races, giving the benefit of the doubt under most circumstances. Having been heavily influenced by the stories told by her brothers, the stories of the Children of Tama hold the same appeal for her and she holds a particular interest in their language and their culture. - - |

| SPECIAL NOTES |
|
||||||||||||||||||||
| The
scar of her near-fatal injury is upon the back of her head, hidden by her
hair whether worn high or low. Meggan will sometimes catch herself running
her fingertips over it in uncertain situations, a little reminder of the
rewards of recklessness. To this day, she cannot recall the few weeks just
prior to the accident, but her memory is sharp and clear as it ever was for
the other events of her past. FAMILY RECORD: Walter Fortune: Father Melanie Fortune: Mother Marcus: Brother Hunter: Brother - |
