BACKGROUND
2353: Born in California, Earth.
2364: His father dies in a barfight.
2367: His mother dies of an unknown ailment.

CHILDHOOD:
Born in 2353, the only son of a human freight trader and his homemaker wife, Matt's childhood was shaky at best. He tended to move around more than most and got used to a life often full of uncertainty. Because of his fluctuating childhood, Matt began to develop a reckless streak to his personality. He often tried things, many times unprepared. Most of the time, he met with disasterous results.

When he was nine he decided to try and pilot a small cargo shuttle alone which failed misrably, and he ended up severly damaging  the ship and breaking his arm. He was severely reprimanted. Unfortunately, he did not really learn from the lesson as he should have...

When he was eleven his father died in a bar fight. Matt, for some odd reason, became obsessed with stopping  fights, and in a way ended up becoming a peacemaker of sorts. Some say this was his way of coping with his father's death. He and his father had been pretty close.

EDUCATION:
When he was thirteen, Matt decided he was going to become a starfleet officer so he started working out and running a lot. When he was seventeen he applied for  Starfleet Acadamy. He got 
in, but quickly kicked out for being involved in a fight even though he trying to stop it. 

STARFLEET SERVICE:
Then, a year later, when he was eighteen, his mother died of an unknown ailment. Once again, torn up with the loss of yet another family member, he assessed his life, and decided he needed to make something more of it. After some thought, he decided to become a security guard, hoping to someday serve on a StarFleet vessel as a crewman.

After serving two years on the StarFleet transport ship, Aurora Borealis, he requeted a post on a Starfleet exploration vessel. He was assigned to the USS Terra Nova in 2377. After a few months service in the Terra Nova, when the she arrived at Liberty Station, Evanstone was transferred to station security. He currently serves there with satisfactory performance reviews.

He is very shy, quite the contrary from his childhood. He doesn't enjoy being the center of attention. He doesn't like going to the bar because it brings up bad memories so he spends most of his time in the mess hall, his quarters, or on duty.
