EDUCATION:
At age 14, Garrett attended a local, Private Christian High School. He spent the next four years in attendance there studying primarily art and theatre. He had a dream to one day become either an Artist (one of the few remaining artists that insisted upon using tools instead of the PADD or computerized art creation programs), or an Actor for the Earth Film Industry (EFI-an offshoot from 20th Century Hollywood). Garrett graduated high school 5th in his class of 120 students, still retaining the high morals he had been taught thus far. 

Garrett developed an interest in learning about the Borg following the 2367 Borg invasion of Wolf 359. 

Upon Graduation, Garrett sought work in Little Hollywood (those EFI film studios near his hometown of Minneapolis, still retaining the Hollywood name in honor of the now defunct studios in Los Angeles, Earth). He was able to find small but steady work, but it wasn't until his small role in a blockbuster drama about a small Federation colony that he decided to actually join Starfleet himself. He craved the chance to explore and that need just became stronger than theatre could fill. 

Now a full year after graduating from secondary school, Garrett (now 19 years old), decided to pull up roots in the Midwest (United States of America) and move out to San Francisco to attend Starfleet Academy. Garrett did well in his studies. Though originally intending to major in Communications, his time spent with Academy friend, Cadet Aaron Billings,  a Navigations major, interested him more towards the pilot end of things. Three years later he finished his major in Navigations and minor in Communications. 

STARFLEET SERVICE:
His cadet cruise in late 2374 was in the Starship Division aboard the USS Hood. He did well, performing his tasks and with relative honors. Unfortunately, the Hood was not really on Explorative duty at the time, and Garrett wanted more, so in 2375 he requested a  second cruise aboard the USS Santee, a Nebula Class vessel, charting previously unknown territories of the Alpha Quadrant. He served with three other cadets under the watchful eye of their assigned commanding officer. Remarkably, Garrett did extremely well, impressing his superiors on a number of occasions, including a successful rescue of fellow shipmates from a hostile planet away mission. As a result, for the duration of his cruise on the Santee, he was granted the commission of Acting-Ensign. 

Garrett returned to the Academy after his second cruise on the Santee and decided to continue his Navigations studies in Command School. He took took to it with a passion, and did quite well, receiving relatively high marks from his instructors. Two years later, he graduated from the Academy Command School, 12th in his class (Lt. standing), with a degree in Federation Navigations (focus in small vessels), a secondary focus in Communications, Command training, and extensive skills as a pilot. He also took with him a knowledge of Bajoran history, culture, and religion; notable familiarity with the Borg; and a passion for exploration. 

(NOTE: While still in the Academy, his older brother was killed in action onboard the USS Hawkeye during the Dominion War. Garrett still carries a bit of the pain from losing his older brother. He also hates the Jem'Hadar because of it. Friend, Aaron Billings was also killed in the war.) 

In 2377, at age 26, Garrett was assigned to the USS Invincible (Defiant Class), and assumed the position of Chief Conn Officer. His service was brief on this vessel however. Only a few months into his assignment, the Invincible suffered a great deal of damage in a number of related events, and returned to spacedock for extensive repairs. He, along with a few other crew put in requests for transfers. Those few months had been enough to convince Garrett that his fate did not lie with the trouble-prone Invincible. He wanted exploration, and thus far the Invincible had other matters to attend to.

A few days after his transfer request was placed, he was contacted by Captain Gregory Billings of the soon-to-be commissioned USS Terra Nova (Defiant variant). The small Federation vessel was to be assigned to deep space exploration, and it was in need of a chief conn officer. Garrett accepted, and a day later was listed on the ship's official manifest..

In 2378, shortly after news circulated that the Valadis Corridor (providing access to the Ryalli Sector, which the Terra Nova was operating in) had been closed to all Federation traffic, Garrett was up for another career advancement. This time, it was somewhat forced upon him. The present First Officer of the USS Terra Nova, Commander Samuel Revos, who had only been onboard for a short time, unexpectedly turned in his resignation from Starfleet, citing personal reasons. Upon Commander Banda's dissapointment, the resignation was accepted, and soon sent to Captain Kelso and Starfleet. Within a few days the decision came back that a new First Officer would need to be found for the Terra Nova. Noting limited qualified crew in the Ryalli Sector, and the small size of the Terra Nova, Kelso appointed Garrett Andrews the new acting First Officer.

Shortly after being assigned as First Officer to the USS Terra Nova, Garrett claims to have experienced another lifetime among the Ancient Adarrans of Tempus IV. During the time of this experience he was comatose for only a few days. He maintains however, that in that time, he lived nearly fifty years of an alternate history. Nothing, however supports his historical references from that timeline. Upon determining this, Garrett has chosen to keep his claims relatively to himself.

In mid-2378 Lt. Cmdr Garrett Andrews was killed in the line of duty near Riawa in the Ryalli Sector. He was given a proper Starfleet funeral, and his body was committed to space.
