2349: Born to parents Tobias and Naomi Braddock in the city of Milwaukee, on Earth.

CHILDHOOD:
Benjamin was born in 2349 in Milwaukee, Earth to Tobias Braddock (a former Federation Naval Patrol officer) and his wife Naomi. His childhood was spent as the second oldest of three siblings -- with an older brother, Daniel, and a younger sister, Christine.

EDUCATION:
At age 14, Ben attended a local, private Christian high school. While studying there, he took a strong interest in computers and design, was elected class president twice, and played baseball all four years (he was also part of the team that won the national championship his senior year). In the spring of 2367, he graduated 3rd in his class with a GPA of 3.98.

Earlier his senior year just before graduation, Ben and his brother Daniel nearly killed a fellow student after the boy raped their sister Christine. While all charges against the two Braddocks were dropped, Ben still regrets the haste of his actions.

Upon graduation from high school, Ben's longing to explore the stars prompted him to apply to Star Fleet Academy. Throughout high school he'd taken an interest in the news coming back to Earth about the stars and what they held in store. He'd heard of the USS Enterprise's exploits as well as those of the other Starfleet crews, and was driven even more in his desire to travel among the stars.

In the summer of 2367, less than a year after the events of Wolf-359, Ben was easily accepted into Starfleet Academy. He chose to pursue his studies in Navigation and Communications, with the hope of someday earning a command position. While studying at the Academy, he also came to know Wesley Crusher, and roomed for a year with Harry Kim. He was also a back-up player on the Academy racquetball team that won the sector finals his freshman year (team captain: senior medical student, Julian Bashir).

In 2371, amid escalating tension with the Maquis, Cardassians, and the newly discovered Dominion, Ben graduated from the Academy. He accepted his invitation to Command school, and continued to pursue his education as a hopeful Star Fleet command officer. He graduated two years later just before the Federation was officially pulled into the Dominion War.

STARFLEET SERVICE:
Ben's first assignment was as Chief Helm officer onboard the USS Majestic. One of his first tests as the new helm officer came as the Majestic took part in the second Borg invasion of Sector 001 ("First Contact"). The Majestic survived, and was shortly thereafter assigned to the front lines of the Dominion War. Here Ben gained much wartime experience until the near destruction of the Majestic in the final assault on Cardassia Prime.

In late 2375, after returning to Earth for major repairs on the Majestic, Ben was promoted and transferred to the newly-commissioned USS London as the Chief Operations Officer. He served onboard with distinction for the next three years.

In 2378, he was assigned as Chief Operations Officer aboard the distinguished Excelsior class USS Furious -- just before being sent out to the distant Ryalli Sector.

In September 2378, he is promoted to full commander, and beocmes the First Officer of the USS Furious. He serves there with distinction.

PERSONALITY PROFILE
Ben is an able commanding officer. He is loyal to his crew -- extremely so at times -- and very protective of the ship he serves upon. He is resourceful, creative, and often unorthodox in his tactical maneuvers. He may seem young to be the commanding officer of a Federation starship, but he has proven himself countless times during the Dominion War and other military conflicts he has been part of. He's a thinker, and quite often comes across as very serious, yet those that get to know him realize that he's far more comfortable with his wit among those he knows well.

He is Christian Protestant by religion (Lutheran by denomination), and actively practices his faith.

Ben is unmarried. Most women would consider him an eligible bachelor, however, he usually tries to downplay such a label, and prefers not to dwell on matters of romance outside of a relationship.

He is a military veteran, and has been greatly impacted by his service in the Dominion War. He, however, usually prefers not to discuss his previous miltary history.
